BRITTEN | THE RAPE OF LUCRETIA

These are the initial design sketches I came up with for The Rape of Lucretia for what was then ICW Productions, Perth, 2019, in three lighting states.

My idea is to have a piece of almost weightless fabric endlessly billowing and unfurling in a breeze, representing the subtle and beautiful shifts of colour and mood, and sense of constant movement, however slight, in Britten's incredible orchestration.
