Artists have long used the self-portrait as a means of expression. The modern fixation with the 'selfie' is to me therefore not a new phenomenon. The idea behind this gallery came to me a few years ago when I thought to use the same image of my face in as many different ways as possible to illustrate as many different characters as I could, much in the same way an actor uses make-up and prosthetics.
